Growing demand for food and fiber crops requires the need to maximize long-term sustainability of our agricultural systems and reimagine how we grow, market and transport food. This program is designed to provide a science-based understanding of the food delivery cycle, from sustainable production, food chemistry and safety to policy and human nutrition. You will explore ways to produce food while conserving natural resources such as soil and water. Highlights from a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Life Sciences, sustainable food systems include: Produce, market, sell and distribute food from the Soil Stewards Farm. Complete an internship to learn about your role as a food system professional. Learn about sustainable farming practices. Gain hands-on experience at on-campus plant science farms and greenhouses. Conduct an undergraduate research project.
