What will I learn?

The B.S. in Architecture is a pre-professional, four-year program, leading to career opportunities within the building industry as well as to accelerated graduate-level degrees, including Architecture, Infrastructure Planning, Civil Engineering and Construction Management. As an Architecture school within a research university, we are a platform for innovation. Our emphasis on research faculty offers students the opportunity to collaborate in growing areas from nanotechnology to augmented and virtual reality, and to explore the frontiers of robotics and digital fabrication. Our program objectives are grounded in professional accreditation requirements. The Master of Infrastructure Planning is an intensive one-year, studio-based program that will help you develop expertise in analyzing, planning and designing the built environment across a range of scales. Infrastructure Planners are agents of change, influencers of how infrastructure is designed, built, upgraded and managed around the globe. You will use new and emergent techniques, such as framework development, master planning, visioning, scenario planning and constituency analysis – and gain proficiency through application in design-based exercises in both local and global contexts. Projects range from designing discrete physical interventions to restructuring urban districts to reimagining mega-regions.

Entry requirements

For international students

All students who apply to NJIT must submit an official high school transcript in English. When evaluating your application for undergraduate admission, we are interested in understanding how you challenged yourself relative to the curriculum that was available at your school and the trends in your performance - especially your grades in math, science, and English. Your completed coursework should include English Composition, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Chemistry and Physics. We also consider the GPA that is indicated on your high school transcript. We look for students in the top 25 percent of their class. For schools that don't use a ranking system, we consider a 3.0 GPA or higher to be equivalent.

*There may be different IELTS requirements depending on your chosen course.
