Biochem is the best of both worlds! It allows a student to combine knowledge of both chemistry and biology of life processes at the molecular level. At MTSU, you will build a strong background in the traditional areas of chemistry that overlap with molecular biology organic and biochemistry, along with the more quantitative areas of analytical, and physical chemistry. A degree in biochemistry prepares students to think critically and creatively as effective problem solvers. Biochem graduates can continue on to graduate or professional school or find immediate employment in a wide variety of high-demand fields. These fields include health professions (e.g. medical, dental, pharmacy), pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry or biomedical testing.
