The BS in Biotechnology prepares students to step confidently into the expanding world of biotech. With a strong focus on research, technology and applied skills, the program equips undergraduates for careers in the biotechnology industry or for success in research-focused graduate programs, complementing existing strengths within the Biological Sciences and Natural and Mathematical Sciences.
CBU’s Biotechnology program is a research- and technology-focused undergraduate major designed to give students hands-on laboratory and analytical experience typically reserved for graduate study. From the start, students develop the technical skills needed to compete in industry or transition seamlessly into research-based graduate programs.
Unlike traditional biology degrees, this program emphasizes industry-relevant techniques and applied research aligned with today’s biotechnology workforce. Graduates are prepared for entry-level roles in biotech, biomanufacturing and research environments-ready to contribute from day one.

Official Transcripts: Send us the official sealed copies of all academic records (including transcripts, mark sheets and grade reports, as well as graduation certificates, diplomas and/or completion certificates) from secondary schools, showing dates of attendance, courses taken and grades received. Electronic official transcripts and digital official transcripts sent from a school administrator may be accepted. Transcripts must be sent directly from the educational institution to CBU. Transcripts received by CBU from a third party (including the applicant) are unofficial and cannot be used for an application file. Essay: Submit a personal statement (minimum 3-5 paragraphs) responding to the following question: "What interests you the most about CBU and how can our programs, faculty, and location help you achieve your future goal.
