Gain the knowledge and experience in programming languages to design original programs and apps via logistical thinking, persistent analytics and mathematic proficiency. Whether you're interested in designing video games or managing databases, majoring in computer science at OSU will provide you with the tools, knowledge and expertise to help. You’ll be able to study new methods of data management and new technologies in our Virtual Reality Laboratory, learn to program for Apple devices in the iMac Mobile App Laboratory and harness the capacity of the departmental server to complete assignments and conduct research.

Entry requirements

For international students

High School GPA 3.0+ (based on a 4.0 scale) and English-language proficiency exam scores (one of the following): iBT TOEFL Internet-Based Score 61+; IELTS Academic Score 5.5+; PTE Academic Score 46+; iTEP Academic Score 3.5+, Duolingo English Test Score 95+.

Note: OSU will only accept the Duolingo English Test (DET) results from students beginning Fall 2024.

Application deadline: For applicants currently living in the U.S. - Fall: July 1, Spring: December 1 and Summer: May 1; For applicants not living in the U.S. - Fall: June 1, Spring: November 1 and Summer: March 1.
