As your first year draws to a close, you'll take an important professional step and declare a concentration in at least one of our principal fields of business. A concentration in Fintech will help you master the foundational skills of finance and learn how to leverage technology to create and improve financial services.You'll study new applications of financial technologies from both broad and in-depth views of various Fintech topics (e.g., big data, machine learning, peer-to-peer lending, blockchain, digital currencies, algorithmic trading). You'll develop programming skills in R and Python as well as tools and knowledge valued by banks, consulting firms, financial technology, and investment firms.This concentration is designed for students who are interested in learning about new applications of technology in financial services, under the general heading of fintech (financial technology). In addition to mastering the foundations of finance, students in this concentration have an opportunity to learn how to leverage technology to create and improve financial services.
