Chemistry is central to many scientific fields of study and chemists are involved in solving in the world greatest challenges such as climate change, disease, and clean energy. At MTSU you will build a strong background in the traditional areas of chemistry analytical, biochemistry, inorganic, organic, and physical chemistry along with mentored research and internship courses, and plenty of electives to choose from, such as computational, environmental, medicinal, and polymer chemistry. A degree in Chemistry prepares students to think critically and creatively as effective problem solvers. Graduates can continue on to graduate or professional school or find immediate employment in a wide variety of high-demand fields, including health professions (e.g.medical, dental, pharmacy) environmental, polymer, or pharmaceutical industry or teaching.

Entry requirements
For international students
Students must have official high school or university transcripts and it must be mailed directly from your high school or university to MTSU. For guaranteed admission, applicants must have completed the recommended college preparatory courses and must present one of the following: GPA 3.0 OR.Minimum composite ACT score of 22 OR minimum SAT total score of 1100 (Evidence Based Reading, Writing and Math).If you do not meet either of the above requirements you will need: Minimum 2.7 GPA plus ACT score of 19 OR SAT score of 990 (Evidence-Based Reading or Writing and Math).
