What will I learn?

The ability to analyze complex data and forecast economic trends is more valuable than ever. With a computational economics degree from Pace University, you’ll develop expertise in programming, data analysis, and economic computation to solve financial and business challenges. The future of business and finance depends on experts who can analyze massive datasets, develop predictive models, and apply advanced econometrics techniques. Pace University’s computational economics program combines computer science, quantitative analysis, and economic theory to prepare you for cutting-edge roles in data science, finance, and policy analysis. Studying in the nationally recognized Dyson College of Arts and Sciences and the Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems-one of the country’s first comprehensive computing schools-you’ll gain hands-on experience in programming languages such as Python, R, STATA, and SQL while working with real-world economic datasets. You’ll also develop machine learning, econometrics, and data visualization skills to tackle challenges in financial forecasting, risk analysis, and business intelligence. Outside the classroom, you’ll have opportunities to compete in the Federal Reserve Challenge and Fiscal Challenge, work on research projects in the Brown Bag Seminar Series, present your research at national and international professional conferences, and network with professionals through the Economics Society. Our graduates go on to work as data scientists, financial analysts, data analysts, database managers, policy analysts, and economists at top companies and government institutions.
