What will I learn?

If you want to be engineer, but haven’t yet chosen a discipline, you can enter UMassD as Engineering Undeclared. The first-year curriculum for most engineering majors is very similar, which allows you some time before declaring. However, to be able to complete an engineering degree within 4 years, you should plan to declare your major as soon as possible (and no later than the third semester). Engineers use their knowledge of math and science to solve problems. You encounter examples of engineering every day: buildings and highways, airplanes and appliances, computers and advanced medical technologies. Engineers strive to improve the earth’s environment and to determine the age of the universe. Engineering at UMass Dartmouth combines knowledge with practical, real-world experience. You’ll work with expert faculty members who love to teach and are accomplished researchers.
