What will I learn?

Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management and Applied Engineering as a traditional campus program and through distance education. Through distance education, our program is offered both online and in a weekend format. Information on our distance education offerings can be found within the Technology Off-Campus Degree Programs. Our program is one of the longest-accredited programs in the U.S. by the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE). The Industrial Management and Applied Engineering major has as its objective the training of qualified personnel who can develop and direct the production and distribution of products and services. The major is designed to prepare management-oriented technical professionals in the economic-enterprise system.About a third of the total hours will be in the University’s Core Curriculum (courses required of all students pursuing a bachelor’s degree) and will provide students with a broad background in the liberal arts and sciences to improve communication skills and to help them understand the world in which they will be making decisions.

Entry requirements

For international students

Students need to have Transcripts from high school and/or college. At SIU Carbondale, applicants for admission will be eligible for automatic admission if they are on track to complete our course pattern requirements and who meet one of the following criteria: A cumulative high school GPA of 2.75; A ranking in the top 10% of their graduating class.

English Language Requirement: Any one of the following methods will automatically meet the minimum English requirement. Applicants who do not meet the automatic English language admission requirement will undergo a holistic review to determine potential admissibility.
