What will I learn?

With your master’s in occupational therapy from New York Tech, you’ll learn to use technology and holistic care to help people participate in all aspects of their lives through the therapeutic use of everyday activities. Explore how technology can advance the healthcare field through hands-on learning. Design and construct adaptive devices and equipment utilizing 3-D printers use immersive and augmented virtual reality learn about new power wheelchairs with state-of-the-art demonstrations from wheelchair users and vendors and work with our brand-new driver simulator to learn how to assess people with disabilities’ readiness to return to operating vehicles.


Gain critical real-world experience throughout, whether traveling abroad to meet with practitioners from places like Morocco and Costa Rica or working in underrepresented communities with vulnerable populations right here at home. You’ll also be able to take advantage of various internship opportunities at leading organizations such as Northwell Health, the New York City Department of Education, and United Cerebral Palsy.


Upon graduation, you’ll have earned two degrees in a shortened time and will be prepared for the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy Examination. You’ll be ready to help patients live their fullest and most complete lives by assisting them in recovering from injury, overcoming disabilities, and living independently.

Entry requirements

For international students

Minimum combined SAT score of 980 (critical reading and math only) or ACT score of 18. Please note that while a combined SAT score of 980 and ACT score of 18 are the minimum scores needed for consideration for admission, it does not guarantee admission. Many students in this program have combined SAT scores over 1060. This program requires standardized test scores. Minimum high school average of 80.
