We are proud to offer one of the nation’s most selective bachelor’s degree programs in the nation that is career-focused. Our outstanding faculty lead classes in in anatomy, pathology, and microbiology along with providing concepts of art and cosmetology. Graduates of the program also learn how to manage and operate funeral homes as funeral directors, overseeing all aspects of the business.Our program offers a bachelor of science degree, making a student eligible to be licensed in all 50 states. You will study a wide range of courses both in class and in lab to give the student the skills and resources to become a valuable asset in the funeral service profession.With a 92 percent graduation rate, our students move into the field quickly with 83 percent employed within two years of graduation.

Entry requirements

For international students

Students need to have Transcripts from high school and/or college. At SIU Carbondale, applicants for admission will be eligible for automatic admission if they are on track to complete our course pattern requirements and who meet one of the following criteria: A cumulative high school GPA of 2.75; A ranking in the top 10% of their graduating class.

English Language Requirement: Any one of the following methods will automatically meet the minimum English requirement. Applicants who do not meet the automatic English language admission requirement will undergo a holistic review to determine potential admissibility.
