What will I learn?

An emphasis on photography skills, technologies, methods, & industry practices with an emphasis on business and marketing studies. The B.S. in Photography program at Endicott College provides students with the aesthetic, technical and practical skills necessary to succeed in a variety of genres within and beyond commercial photography such as documentary, photojournalism, fashion, sports, commercial, and portrait photography. The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics states that currently, 70% of professional photographers are sole proprietors and they expect that number to increase in the next decade. Students completing the B.S. in Photography will be prepared for a free-lance and/or entrepreneurial career where they are a sole proprietor as well as for jobs throughout the creative industries and beyond.BS Photography students obtain relevant skills in marketing, business, copyright, image dissemination, and archiving that complements the studio portrait, commercial, advertising, and product imagery coursework. In addition to keeping abreast of the rapid, industry-standard changes in technology, this program emphasizes image-production within the framework of marketing, media analysis, financial acumen, public relations, and entrepreneurship. Students are taught the business practices specifically relative to photographers which prepare them for professional practice upon graduation.
