The Bachelor of Science with a major in Social Science (without Teacher's Certification) is an interdisciplinary major in which a student can choose courses from 9 social science departments across the university: Anthropology, Economics, Geography (Human Geography Only), History, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, and Social Work. Students choose a primary field of interest that will guide their coursework in conjunction with two or more secondary fields. Since this major is flexible, students can gear courses toward the direction of their potential career. Our Social Science majors go into a wide variety of careers, including jobs in education, government, non-profits, human resources, helping professions, and museum employees, just to name a few.A Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science from the University of North Texas offers an interdisciplinary approach to 21st-century education. This approach allows you to tailor a degree program to your specific needs and career goals. After earning a Bachelor of Science with a major in social science, you will have a greater understanding of societal needs, diverse cultures and individual responsibility. You will possess a greater understanding of cultural diversity and global issues, as well as the communication and digital skills necessary to be competitive in the workforce. You may also participate in an internship and earn academic credit while gaining valuable work experience. The Social Science major has an internship course designed specifically for students in this major.

For international students
Beginning freshman from international high school:-
Graduation from a high school recognized by the home country ministry of education, Official transcripts/diplomas (in native language and English) showing all courses and marks of final three years of secondary school
Students with a cumulative unweighted high school GPA of 3.25 or higher are guaranteed admission to UNT. Students' GPAs will be standardized on a 4.0 GPA scale once transcripts are submitted.
Beginning freshman from U.S. high school:-
