Bachelor of Science in Sound Recording Technology - Performance

Sound Recording Technology applicants pursuing a performance track must play an entrance audition, take at least one year of applied lessons and participate in ensembles for two years. For audition requirements, please refer to the specific instrument’s audition repertoire. Performance track applicants must also submit a portfolio. The Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in Sound Recording Technology (SRT) prepares students for careers in the audio industry. The SRT program includes coursework in classical and popular recording, music production, surround sound audio for film and multimedia, as well as physics, electronics and mathematics. The faculty is comprised of experienced recording engineers, dedicated to teaching excellence. Drawing upon the resources of the city, students have the opportunity to work and study at Chicago area recording studios and live performance venues. ​​​​​
