What will I learn?

The mission of the Department of Speech-Language Pathology is to prepare reflective speech-language pathologists and audiologists for lifelong success by providing an excellent student-centered experiential learning environment. Our students are mentored in developing leadership, critical thinking skills, and a strong commitment to their profession and society. These efforts are assisted by the department's commitment to professional growth through clinical practice, scholarly activity, and service to the profession and the community. The programs are developed in accordance with state and national accreditation standards and guidelines to ensure that graduates provide exemplary professional practice throughout their careers. At the undergraduate level, students receive exceptional full-time pre-professional training in the field of speech-language pathology. Upon completion of the bachelor’s degree program, students are eligible to apply for admission into graduate programs in speech-language pathology, audiology and other related disciplines. They are also eligible to apply for licensure to become a speech-language pathology assistant in the state of California.

For international students

Proof of graduation from high school in the form of a final transcript is required for all freshman and is due on or before the first day of class. GED or state high school equivalency exam may also be accepted.
