What will I learn?

For students who wish to work in the complex, constantly changing world of media and communications, the sports media program gives the knowledge and skills to excel in the field. Our sports media program is the largest stand-alone sports media program in the world with more than 215 annual majors and declared pre-majors. In this program, you will have a balance of theory and hands-on training in the classroom. All faculty members in the OSU sports media program possess extensive experience in the industry.HighlightsYour learning as a sports media major is not confined to the classroom. Several of our student organizations allow you to gain practical experience though activities such as sports play-by-play announcing and working behind the scenes on live sports telecasts. Courses to expect for this major include Sports and the Media, Sports Public Relations, Electronic Sports Reporting, and Sports Announcing.
