About this course

What will I learn?

The University of Akron’s surveying program prepares you for a technical and professional career in surveying through classroom, lab and real-world experiences. You’ll learn to manage geospatial data using advanced tools like laser scanners, drones, satellite positioning, ground penetrating radar and robotics. Taught by licensed professional surveyors, the program shows you how to apply math, law and map design to solve complex boundary problems and develop the skills of a land ''detective.'' Our ABET-accredited BS in Surveying and Mapping meets the academic requirements for professional surveyor licensure in Ohio and nearly every state.
