Economics is poised at the intersection between social science and business, and has great relevance for a wide range of public policy issues. The business economics program at the UC Carl H. Lindner College of Business combines the study of both economics and business, providing a strong theoretical and professional combination. Traditional economics courses prepare students to collect and analyze data, monitor economic trends and develop forecasts-essential to the ability of business firms to maximize profits and provide the quantity of goods or services that consumers will demand at a certain price. The program includes general education requirements as well as basic courses in all business disciplines, economics and career exploration and development.
