What will I learn?

Business Analytics is the process of transforming data into insights to improve business decisions. The MS in Business Analytics focuses on developing and applying analysis and analytics skills to fulfill significant needs in the business and marketing field. Data understanding, data visualization, and descriptive and predictive modeling are some of the tools used to create insights from data in the business context. Students learn to integrate business concepts, as well as key methods and tools available for modeling, analysis and solving challenging problems involving business and marketing data. The new MS in Business Analytics is intended to address the growing element of the discipline with more emphasis on operations since it focuses upon the business operations area of the discipline, and less on the science and math modeling of the data. An analogy with IT is a computer science degree with specific focus on software and the related degree of MIS with its focus on the spectrum of IT Business Systems (networks, hardware, customer support, procurement, etc.).
