Certificate in Conversational and Professional French

USA

What will I learn?

The conversational and professional French certificate provides students with concrete conversational experience with native speakers. It hones their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills to work within French-speaking environments. These skills are essential in Michigan, given its proximity to Canada, where French is an official language used in the domains of commerce, education, administration and other industries.

Entry requirements

For international students

International applicants must complete the equivalent of a U.S. four-year bachelor's degree, including all state and external/internal examinations required for the degree. Some three-year general degrees (from Canada, India, Pakistan, France, Lebanon, etc.) may not be equivalent to a four-year U.S. bachelor's degree. However, if you have completed an honors degree, additional undergraduate coursework beyond the three-year bachelor's degree, or a graduate degree, you may be considered for admission. As an international student, you are required to meet the university's English proficiency requirements for Undergraduate Admissions. Undergraduate certificate programs are open to Wayne State students who have completed at least 60 credits and have a GPA of 2.5 or above. The program also is open to students who have previously earned a bachelor's at Wayne State or another institution

*There may be different IELTS requirements depending on your chosen course.
