What will I learn?

The Information Technology and Security Academy (ITSA) Certificate is a standalone certificate specially created for the Information Technology and Security Academy to compliment the high school technology skill set. It may be completed in a student’s junior and senior high school years and prepares them for entry level positions in information technology. After performing well in this curriculum the student will be on his or her way to sit for the CompTIA A plus, Network+, Security plus, LPIC-1, and Linux plus certifications which is a great way to start a career in the IT industry. Earning certifications shows not only that you have the right knowledge and skills to do the job, but also that you are dedicated to your IT career. Many companies, including Microsoft, Ricoh, Lenovo and Cisco, recommend or require CompTIA certification and / or Cisco certification programs. All evaluations must be completed by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO). Please note: Some evaluation services require translation from a translation service. In order to have foreign college credit count towards the completion of a program at a college of the Alamo Colleges District, students must submit a course by course evaluation.
