What will I learn?

The Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science has very strong M.S. and Ph.D. programs in chemical engineering as well as in materials science and engineering, with a current graduate enrollment of approximately 60 students, including about 30 Ph.D. students. Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science alumni are working to improve quality of life all around the world. They are employed in a wide variety of exciting and challenging positions. Through our work we advance the creation and application of chemical engineering and materials science knowledge, develop future researchers to expand the scientific enterprise, provide highly skilled professional engineers to meet the evolving needs of industry and society, and translate scientific discovery into products and processes that contribute to our wellbeing and the sustainability of our society.

Admission to this program is contingent upon admission to the Graduate School. Regular admission requires a 3.5 grade point average in a Master of Science program, or a Bachelor of Science program from an accredited U.S. institution
