What will I learn?

WCE’s Post-Baccalaureate Certificate program in Community College Leadership is designed for community college administrators and faculty members. The 12- credit hour program is offered through the Higher Education program in WCE’s Department of Educational Leadership.Courses focus on teaching and learning at community colleges and provide an overview of the mission, functions and diversity among community college leadership. Organizational management, including policy and budgeting, is also covered. The program is delivered in a hybrid format that provides flexibility for full-time professionals who may need access to distance education options. A summer residency provides structured opportunities for campus interaction among students and with community college leaders and policymakers.

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants seeking admission to the graduate certificate in community college leadership must hold a bachelors degree from a regionally accredited college or university in this country, or its equivalent in a foreign institution based on a four-year program, and have a strong overall academic record with a 3.0 average or better overall grade point average (GPA). Applicants should also currently hold a position at a community college or be interested in working at a community college.

International students: TOEFL minimum scores of 79 on the Internet-based exam or 550 on the paper-based exam. TOEFL scores are good for two years from the date the test is administered.
