What will I learn?

Develop the skills to build stable, resilient communities in the University of Central Missouri’s Crisis and Disaster Management BS program. Unlike most emergency management programs that focus only on how to respond to and recover from disasters, UCM’s Crisis and Disaster Management degree program also teaches you how to build community preparedness through proactive planning. Our degree is one of the oldest of its kind in the country and was the first in the state of Missouri. You’ll learn risk, crisis and disaster management skills from dedicated faculty members who have firsthand experience working in the field. In addition to teaching undergraduate program classes, Crisis and Disaster Management (CDM) program faculty members mentor you to help you develop professional skills, such as networking and career planning.

Entry requirements

For international students

All undergraduate students are required to upload unofficial transcripts to their student portal (created upon application submission) and submit official transcripts to our office. These transcripts will be used for advisement purposes. Students must have a 2.0 high school GPA or above to be admissible. If the applicant has taken undergraduate coursework the cumulative GPA of the undergraduate coursework must be a 2.0 or higher to be admissible.
