What will I learn?

From security and safety to monitoring and medicine, sensors are devices that measure change. A sensor can function as a diagnostic instrument such as detecting a virus with a device that uses blood or sweat or a mechanism like an Apple watch that detects your heart rate. Here at CEAS, innovations have included virus testing, sweat sensing, and blood testing to detect even the most novel diseases like COVID-19.The Chemical Engineering program offers an average of 35 graduate courses a year in the four research areas of Biomolecular Engineering, Nanotechnology, Energy and Environment, and Separations. The courses include, but are not limited to Air Pollution Engineering, Biotransformations and Biocatalysis, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering Design and Green Engineering, Computational Chemistry and Molecular Modeling, Fuel Cells, Membrane Processes, Molecular Engineering and Functional Nanomaterials, Polymer Systems, Process Dynamics, Control and Optimization, Reaction Engineering and Catalysis for Energy and Fuels, Separation Processes, Tissue Engineering, and Transport Phenomena.
