The Learning Sciences and Educational Research (LSER) PhD program prepares students for careers in both higher education and business and industry. In higher education, LSER graduates obtain positions as faculty members and administrators. In business and industry, LSER graduates become directors and leaders of training, development, and research. The program enables students to specialize in the Learning Sciences, Research Methodology, and Instructional Design and Technology. The LSER PhD is a research-oriented interdisciplinary degree program that allows flexibility for students to work in research clusters and learning communities with faculty on research appropriate for those seeking positions in the school districts, colleges, universities, businesses, industry, government agencies, and other settings that require a strong foundation in the learning sciences, research methodology, and/or instructional design.
