What will I learn?

The Connected Science Community Mathematics PhD Program is designed for students to develop a deep understanding of mathematics through core curriculum coursework along with advanced courses according to individual interest in any of several department research areas: algebra, algebraic geometry, representation theory, partial differential equations, combinatorics and discrete mathematics, mathematical physics and geometry, probability and statistics, and topology.Upon joining the Mathematics PhD program, you will also join a Connected Science Community of PhD students across the College of Science. During the summer before your first year, you will participate in workshops to develop key skills, explore and utilize university resources, and learn about potential post-PhD careers.
