USA

What will I learn?

The discovery and development of advanced materials and new functional devices have been a precursor of new technology development in various real-world applications. The ME faculty works on theoretical and computational studies and experimental demonstration of advanced materials and devices not only for classical mechanical systems but also for other functional applications of bio, electrochemistry, electronics, photonics, computing, and energy. Their research areas focus on a broad spectrum of topics including superconductors, nanomaterials, quantum materials, bio-materials, materials for energy, metamaterials, semiconductors, soft electronics, and sensors. Innovative materials technology development is further facilitated by advanced manufacturing. The ME faculty also works on a broad spectrum of scientific and technical challenges in advanced manufacturing.
