What will I learn?

The world’s population continues to increase, creating changes in the way our food is grown, distributed and sold. Through the Dual-Degree JD/Master of Food and Agriculture Law and Policy program, a partnership between the Quinnipiac School of Law and Vermont Law School, you’ll learn to effectively engage the institutions and individuals that directly influence food and agriculture law and policy. Moreover, you’ll use the knowledge and acumen you’ve obtained to help protect the environment, conserve natural resources such as land and water, and ensure the health and safety of everyday people. In this program, you’ll take courses from both schools that illustrate the complex laws and regulations around food production and agriculture at the local, state and federal levels. Externships offer additional opportunities to work directly with professionals in the field of food and agriculture law. These experiences open the door to many career paths, including positions in the fields of agriculture, biotechnology, GMOs, community development, disaster relief economics and sustainability finance. You’ll receive your JD from Quinnipiac and your MFALP from Vermont Law School in as few as 3 years, giving you the benefit of significant time and cost savings. While rigorous, the program emphasizes flexibility by enabling you to complete your MFALP coursework online or on the Vermont Law School campus during the summer. Additionally, you’ll have access to the same extensive career development resources enjoyed by traditional law students, including our vast network of successful alumni.
