What will I learn?

The graduate program in English allows you to pursue a wide variety of coursework in literature, rhetoric, professional writing, science and medical writing, pedagogy, and cultural studies, among other topics, taught by faculty who are active researchers in their fields. You will work in a collaborative environment, supported by our faculty and by members of your cohort. You may pursue your degree on a full-time or part-time basis. Full-time students typically complete the degree in four semesters.

Entry requirements

For international students

The minimum requirements for acceptance are the following: a satisfactory response to the statement of interest attached to the application form, a strong writing sample, a bachelors degree from a regionally accredited college or university or its equivalent in a foreign institution based on a four-year program, and a strong overall academic record with a “B” average or better in the undergraduate major.

Minimum Score Requirement – TOEFL: 79; IELTS: minimum of 6.5 for acceptance, 7.0 for TA consideration; Duolingo: minimum of 115.
