Designed for working professionals, this program strengthens security design, IT management, and cybersecurity implementation skills. Its unique hybrid format and emphasis on applied learning build the cybersecurity knowledge and techniques needed to advance in the technology field. The Executive MS in Information Technology and Cybersecurity program strengthens advanced technology and information security skills. During the program, students explore database security, information assurance, and digital forensics techniques. Graduates learn how to design secure systems and implement security solutions. Experiential learning opportunities occur throughout the program. Graduate students apply their academic knowledge during an internship, which starts the first semester. The computer information systems internship provides opportunities to solve real-world business problems. NEC’s intensive on-campus residences encourage collaborative problem-solving and communication skills. Weekend residency sessions also prioritize networking.

Entry requirements

For international students

You have completed a masters degree in the U.S. (must be accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education) or have three years of relevant U.S. work experience. An internship/job is required. Eligible F-1 students can be authorized to work under Curricular Practical Training (CPT) to meet the internship/job requirement. A copy of a valid passport. Résumé/curriculum vitae (CV). Official transcripts for U.S. degree. Official Transcripts. Copy of all three pages of your current and valid I-20. This executive-level program requires either an accredited masters degree or three years of relevant work experience. Applicants should also have a general understanding of IT systems and processes. You will be eligible for an internship/job in the U.S. Executive programs are designed with working professionals in mind. NEC believes applied academics should be tied to the professions and professions can benefit from practitioners with advanced degrees.
