What will I learn?

The GEOINT certificate is housed in the Department of Earth and Ocean Sciences (EOS). To be eligible for the GEOINT certificate, graduate students must complete the GIS certificate program and a capstone experience. Geographic Information Science (GISci or GIScience) is the academic theory behind the development, use, and application of geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing, data visualization, global positioning systems, spatial analysis, and quantitative methods.This graduate certificate in GIScience will provide you with a solid foundation in GIScience and enable the students to explore application areas that utilize this technology.

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants seeking admission to the graduate Geographic Information Science certificate program must hold a bachelors degree from a regionally accredited college or university in this country, or its equivalent in a foreign institution based on a four-year program, and have a strong overall academic record with a “B” average or better.

Minimum Score Requirement – TOEFL: 79; IELTS: minimum of 6.5 for acceptance, 7.0 for TA consideration; Duolingo: minimum of 115.

Application deadline: Summer I - April 15; Summer II -May 15; Fall - July 1.
