What will I learn?

Information technology at St. John's University is a professional curriculum built upon a liberal arts core leading to the Bachelor of Science degree. The information technology major, offered to both day and evening students, is designed to provide both a comprehensive education leading to careers in technical and managerial positions, such as software architect/developer, network security analyst, database manager, IT infrastructure engineer, and information security specialist. The degree provides solid preparation for further academic and professional study in computer science and decision sciencesStudents who enroll in the BS in Information Technology (IT) program will achieve knowledge and competency in topics that include coverage of: human computer interaction information management programming networking web systems and technologies Information assurance and security System administration and maintenance System integration and system architecture A solid base in fundamentals of computer programming An introduction to Cyber Security Advanced course work that builds on the fundamentals to provide depth.The program supports the core Vincentian values of compassion and service in providing students with technical skills that can be used to combat poverty, disease, crime, as well as provide IT solutions in healthcare. It will utilize new instructional labs in St. Augustine Hall to provide maximum support for students' academic success.

Entry requirements

For international students

To Qualify, applicants must: Meet our minimum high school or transfer academic requirement; Have a TOEFL of 80 or higher/IELTS of 6.5 or higher/Duolingo of 105+ or higher/SAT EWR 440 or higher. International students are encouraged to submit their application for admission and all required credentials by May 1 for fall semester admission and November 1 for spring semester admission.

*There may be different IELTS requirements depending on your chosen course.
