The J.D./Master’s of Science in Forensic Science is offered in collaboration with the Forensic & National Security Sciences Institute. This joint degree program provides students entering the legal profession a unique opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of forensic evidence analysis. The program’s distinctive educational and hands-on experiences enhance students’ effectiveness inside and outside the courtroom and distinguish them as candidates for criminal law-oriented careers. Students are able to complete both the J.D. and MS in 3 years with 100 credit hours (123 credits required if the degrees were obtained separately).

For international students
Applicants who are not United States citizens or Permanent Residents of the US must submit all materials required of domestic applicants, as well as the following documentation:Syracuse University College of Law requires that your foreign transcripts be submitted through the LSAC J.D. Credential Assembly Service. If you completed any postsecondary work outside the US (including its territories) or Canada, you must use this service for the evaluation of your foreign transcripts. One exception to this requirement is if you completed the foreign work through a study abroad, consortium, or exchange program sponsored by a US or Canadian institution, and the work is clearly indicated as such on the home campus transcript. This service is included in the CAS subscription fee. A Foreign Credential Evaluation will be completed by the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO), which will be incorporated into your CAS report.The TOEFL/IELTS score requirement will be waived for non-resident students who have completed a four-year undergraduate program or minimum of two years of graduate work in a U.S. college or university.
