What will I learn?

In collaboration with several other academic units at UW-Milwaukee, SOIS offers students the opportunity to obtain two Master’s degrees concurrently-one in Library and Information Science (MLIS) and one in a subject area. The MLIS/MA Geography Coordinated Degree Program prepares students for positions as map librarians. Graduates of the program are qualified to assume positions as curators and staff in map collections of universities, governmental agencies, and industry.

Entry requirements

For international students

A baccalaureate degree, or its equivalent as determined by the UWM Center on International Education, from a regionally accredited institution.

A minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale, or an equivalent measure on a grading system that does not use a 4.0 scale.
