What will I learn?

Earn your master’s degree in education and your teaching license at the same time. This program is designed to prepare you for a career as a professional teacher. You’ll build a strong foundation in pedagogy, understand effective theories of learning, and put your learning to work in local classrooms with PK-12 students. This accelerated program allows you to complete your M.Ed. and Colorado teacher licensure requirements in just 12 months. Offered in-person only, this program meets for classroom instruction and offers internship placement in the Northern Colorado area.

Entry requirements

For international students

It is a program requirement that you demonstrate content competency in the subject area in which you want to obtain your teaching license. You can do this by 1.) holding a bachelors degree in the subject you want to teach, 2.) completing 24 credits in that subject as outlined by CDE, and 3.) passing a PRAXIS exam for that subject: Early Childhood Education: Ages 0-8; K-12 Licensure: Computer Science, World Languages (French, German, Spanish), Visual Arts; Secondary Licensure (Grades 7-12): Agricultural Education, Business, English, Family and Consumer Sciences, Marketing, Science, Social Studies, Speech, Technology Education. Unofficial transcripts will be accepted for purposes of the application and admission. If admitted and you choose to attend CSU, official transcripts will be required prior to or during your first semester before you can register for your second semester.
