What will I learn?

Many engineers spend a significant amount of their careers as managers. This program provides the additional manager training engineering these professionals need to succeed as leaders in the field.In this program, you will prepare to move from a role as a practicing engineer to a management position in business, industry or government. Explore the analytical, technical and human resource aspects of managing in a technical environment. Develop practical knowledge you can apply immediately to your career in areas like project management, leadership, accounting, statistics and more. Students may elect to conduct a master’s project on a topic relevant to their current career or organization.

Entry requirements

For international students

Graduate school applicants must possess the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree, with a minimum overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

The following are acceptable as proof of English competency for graduate students:

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): minimum overall score of 79

IELTS (International English Language Testing System): minimum overall score of 6.5

MELAB (Michigan English Language Assessment Battery): Minimum overall score of 77

U of I American Language and Culture Program (ALCP) with score of a Level 6/Advanced Pass
