Entry requirements

For international students

You must have a bachelor's degree from a properly recognized institution. The minimum cumulative grade-point average (GPA) is 2.75 on a 4.0 scale. Some programs have higher minimum GPA requirements. To be eligible for the Biology graduate program, applicants must submit three letters of recommendation, a statement of purpose, and a résumé/CV, along with a bachelor's degree and adequate background in science and mathematics. The statement of purpose (max 2 pages) should demonstrate strong interest in research, explain academic goals and why WVU is the best fit, and highlight matching faculty research interests, while the CV (max 2 pages) should outline relevant work, research, volunteer, and academic accomplishments. Late applications may still be considered on a space-available basis, including for graduate teaching assistantship (GTA) funding.

*There may be different IELTS requirements depending on your chosen course.
