What will I learn?

Earn your Dual-Degree Bachelor’s/Master’s (4plus1) with the Accelerated Graduate Degree Program in Communication. The accelerated program allows undergraduate students in the School of Communication at Western Michigan University to start earning credits towards their master’s degree while completing their bachelor’s degree.When admitted to the accelerated program with senior standing, you may take up to 12 credit hours of graduate-level courses that count towards both your bachelor’s and master’s degrees.An undergraduate degree in communication requires a total of 122 credit hours. The Master of Arts in communication requires a total of 30 credit hours. By joining our accelerated program, you can take up to 12 graduate credit hours that count towards both your bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

Entry requirements

For students from United States

Students must have a minimum accumulated grade point average (GPA) of 3.5/4.0 at WMU

For international students

This program is open to undergraduate students:

Must be a major in the School of Communication; other WMU majors may be approved by the graduate director on a case-by-case basis.
By the initial semester of AGDP enrollment, must have obtained senior status, have earned a minimum of 15 credit hours at WMU, and have completed as least 18 hours in their major at WMU or at another institution.
An undergraduate minimum GPA of 3.5 (based on at least 15 hours earned at WMU).

Minimum English proficiency test scores:
