The MA in Psychology at Dallas Baptist University is a master’s program for those who desire to help people. Our master’s degree in psychology can empower you to become an advocate and make an impact on the lives of those in need. DBU offers the premier Christ-centered MA in Psychology, a 60-hour program designed to prepare graduates as a Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA). The LPA allows graduates to practice as a mental health practitioner in the state of Texas. A Master of Psychology at DBU will prepare you for your calling as a servant leader in a wide array of psychological occupations. The MAP positions students to practice in both Christian and secular areas of psychology. Collaborate with peers and learn from experienced professors on advanced counseling techniques and psychological testing methods.

Entry requirements

For international students

A Bachelor's degree from an institution accredited by a DOE recognized Institutional Accrediting Agency;

Evidence of sound moral character and compatibility with DBU's mission;

A likelihood of academic success as demonstrated by a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale in all previous coursework;

Two recommendation forms from non-family members;

A current professional resume.

Additional conditions of full admission may be specified by individual degree programs and/or the Master's Degrees Admission Committee.

English Proficiency Test Scores (good for 2 years after test date)

  • TOEFL - 79 (internet or paper)
  • IELTS (Academic) - Overall Band: 6.0 (No section band lower than 5.5)
  • PTE (Academic) - 53
  • CAE - 169
  • MET - 65
  • iTEP - 3.9
  • DET - 110 (No sub score lower than 90)
