What will I learn?

The Master of Divinity (MDiv) program offered through Loyola's Institute of Pastoral Studies (IPS) is designed to meet the academic, formational, and professional needs of those called to ministerial leadership. The program will prepare you as a ministry generalist grounded in the Christian faith tradition and possessing the interpersonal and spiritual skills to empower others. The MDiv also offers individualized focus options for specialization in particular settings.By completing the Master of Divinity, students will be able to demonstrate:The ability to interpret pastoral circumstances in relation to scripture, tradition, and human sciences (Theology/Religious Heritage) The ability to engage, transform, and/or critique social, economic, political, and ecclesial realities of our day in order to address the changing landscape of ministry. (Cultural Context The ability to engage the relevant dimensions of Christian faith, discipleship and ministry with interpersonal, spiritual, and ecclesial maturity. (Maturity/Personal Formation)

Entry requirements

For international students

Applicants seeking admission must have completed a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or its equivalent.

English language requirements:

For the TOEFL, a score of at least 213 on the computer-based test or 550 on the written test is required. The minimum score for the new TOEFL IBT (internet-based test) is 79.

For the IELTS, a minimum score of 6.5 is required.

*There may be different IELTS requirements depending on your chosen course.
