Applicants are eligible to apply as a graduate student if you have earned a degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's degree. You must meet the following requirements: Above average class standing at an internationally accredited college or university: the equivalent of at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale is recommended. Provisional admission – Students who are admitted provisionally are required to provide their official transcripts, bachelors degree certificate and test scores as soon as possible after being admitted otherwise the admission decision could be rescinded. In addition, requirements for the program include the following: Preferably a BA or BFA in Art, but other degrees may be considered. A portfolio, which is the most critical element in the admissions process. Applicants with degrees in other fields are encouraged to apply if they can demonstrate a strong body of work and proficiency in studio practice. Artist statement. Statement of purpose. Two letters of recommendation. Copies of transcripts. Classified Standing: A classified graduate student has been recommended for admission and has satisfied all prerequisites and admission requirements for both the Department of Art and the university. Conditionally Classified Standing: Students who do not meet certain prerequisites may be considered for admission in conditionally classified graduate standing. Students must successfully satisfy all the requirements of conditional standing in order to become classified.
