What will I learn?

Inspire musicality and professionalism in your ensembles. Explore the history and heritage of orchestral, wind, and chamber performance to inform your conducting and ensemble leadership. In this program, you'll practice the evaluation of comprehensive instrumental music programs, from middle school to collegiate levels, to develop the expertise and skills to pursue these roles in your professional career. Through both theoretical study and applied practice, you will master the technical and artistic skills to lead advanced instrumental ensembles and to shape your career around your musical interests. Admission requirements Individual program admission requirements over and above admission to NAU are required. Bachelor's degree in music from a regionally accredited institution. Essay/Letter of Intent/Personal Statement, Portfolio Recommendation(s)/Reference(s), Video or Audio File. Writing Sample. See the application for details.Applicants must have earned a bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution and a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 out of a 4.0 scale to be considered for regular admission. Admitted students are expected to have undergraduate educational experiences, including general education studies, that are similar to those required for a baccalaureate at Northern Arizona University. Applicants who have earned their degree(s) from an international institution must submit official transcripts directly from the university or college. The transcripts must be in the original language of the country accompanied by an English translation.
