What will I learn?

The American Medical Association recognizes athletic training as a healthcare profession. Cal State Fullerton Athletic Training students complete traditional didactic coursework and concurrent clinical education experiences, emphasizing clinical reasoning skills that encompass the prevention, diagnosis and intervention of emergency, acute and chronic medical conditions involving impairment, functional limitations and disabilities. The MSAT degree requires 58 units of rigorous coursework delivered full-time over two academic year, which begins in the summer (approx. June 20th each year). We hold our students to high standards to maximize the skills and knowledge with which they enter the athletic training profession at the end of the program. The MSAT faculty at Cal State Fullerton remain current in their areas of expertise and are commited to teaching the most contemporary content. Throughout the program, students are trained to develop effective problem-solving skills, provide high quality patient care and achieve the best patient outcomes. Through our own commitment to service, we strive to model a philosophy of lifelong learning and quality improvement in clinical practice, all while mentoring students to be quality contributors to the profession and their community.
