What will I learn?

The Ball State Department of Biology offers two paths for our master’s degree in biology depending on your academic and professional interests. The master of science (MS) degree blends rigorous graduate coursework and intensive research experience that culminates in a master’s-level research thesis. This degree is designed to prepare students for continued study at the doctoral level, but graduates may also use their education to begin a career in research in the public or private sector.

Entry requirements

For international students

To be eligible for regular admission for a licensure, graduate certificate, or master's degree program, you must meet one of the criteria below - earned a minimum of a 2.75 GPA from your undergraduate degree-granting institution. Earned at least 9 graduate credit hours with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA. Have a conferred master's or doctoral degree from an institution recognized by an USDE accrediting association.

Students must have a bachelors degree from an institution recognized by a regional accrediting association.

Students must have .75 GPA from the undergraduate degree-granting institution
