What will I learn?

Business analytics is crucial in all organizations. As more businesses focus on bridging data and decision making, the need for skilled analysts to collect and interpret this information continues to grow. The Master of Science in Business Analytics prepares students to become business analysts skilled in the collection, management, analysis, interpretation and application of data to make more informed and successful business decisions. Interdisciplinary STEM program taught by UCF’s College of Business and College of Sciences. Curriculum combines courses in economics, business analytics and statistics. Includes a two-course capstone sequence, which involves the integration of all the skills and tools developed throughout the program to solve an empirical problem. Introduces students to powerful data analysis software tools including Python, R, SQL, UNIX, as well as data visualization tools. Highly accomplished faculty add to the student’s learning process by incorporating working in industry and conducting applied academic research. Faculty industry experience includes Amazon, CapitalOne Bank, Goldman Sachs, LinkedIn and Qwest Communications.

Entry requirements

For international students

Earned bachelors degree with a 3.0 GPA or higher from an accredited institution recognized by UCF in business, economics, computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or other natural sciences Recommended but not required, applicants successfully complete the following courses or their equivalent: Mathematics course, such as QMB 3003 (Quantitative Methods for Business I) or MAC 2311C (Calculus with Analytic Geometry I); Statistics course, such as QMB 3200 (Quantitative Methods for Business I) or STA 2023 (Statistical Methods I); and Economics courses such as ECO 2023 (Principles of Microeconomics) and ECO 3101 (Microeconomics) Applicants might also take further courses in business analytics, including econometrics, mathematical economics, and other courses in the minor in business analytics or the business analytics track of the UCF BSBA degree The GRE/GMAT is not required for admission to this program. This is your opportunity to outline in 500-1,000 words your professional goals, how the program furthers these goals, and how your achievements and qualifications will further your success in the program. Three letters of recommendation from professors and/or current/former supervisors. Applicants applying to this program who have attended a college/university outside the United States must provide one official transcript and official certification of degree, with date awarded.
