What will I learn?

In the M.S. program in Chemical Engineering, students will work side-by-side with world-renowned experts to conduct original research to address global challenges using chemical engineering principles. Our program equips students with a diverse skill set essential for the next generation of chemical engineering leaders in academia and industry. Our students are involved in a wide range of innovative research areas, including, advanced polymeric materials, bioanalytical devices, biomedical science and engineering, systems biology, synthetic biology, and biomanufacturing. The Plan A degree is completed with a thesis and satisfactory performance on a final comprehensive examination approved by the student’s graduate committee.

Entry requirements

For international students

Completion of a bachelors degree equivalent to a U.S. Bachelors degree from an institution that is recognized by a governmental national higher education authority (at the time the degree was earned). Transcripts of all collegiate work completed. In general, the minimum cumulative GPA for non-provisional admittance is a 3.000 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) to be admitted by the Graduate School. Departments may require a higher GPA. For admission of international applicants, the minimum grade for non-provisional admittance is a B grade equivalent. The grade equivalency is the recommended U.S. grade equivalent, not the GPA equivalent.
