What will I learn?

OSU's Master of Science in Chemical engineering is a discipline focused on conceiving and designing processes to produce, transform and transport materials-beginning with experimentation in the laboratory followed by implementation of the technology. Our mission is to develop human resources, professional knowledge, and the infrastructure through which chemical engineering can contribute to human welfare. Traditional careers are in the chemical, energy and oil industries, with increasing opportunities in biotechnology pharmaceuticals.A minimum of thirty (30) semester credit hours is required by the university for graduation this requirement is met by the Chemical Engineering MS curriculum.Specific educational objectives have been established and can be met through a combination of course work, independent study, and other mechanisms (e.g., seminar).

Academic background eg the degree program and specific courses you have taken as an undergraduate test scores eg GRE TOEFL and Statement of Background and Goals describing any prior research experience eg undergraduate research completed graduate degrees and research interests will all be consideredAn undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from an ABET accredited program Students with undergraduate degrees in other engineering disciplines or closely related fields chemistry physics mathematics biological sciences etc are also invited to apply and will be evaluated on an individual basis and extra course work may be requiredGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is preferred Equivalent credentials are required from an international universityGRE scores are not required for students with an undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from an ABET accredited domestic program Otherwise a minimum of 160 Quantitative score is preferred English Language Proficiency For international students a minimum TOEFL score of 79 or IELTS score of 6.5 is preferredTOEFL 79 internet-based 550 paper-based.IELTS 6.5
