What will I learn?

The M.S. in Computer Science prepares you for jobs in industry and entry into the Ph.D. program. In addition to taking a prescribed set of core courses, you must take sufficient courses in one specialized area and complete either the thesis or non-thesis option. Recent thesis work includes sentiment analysis, healthcare informatics and machine learning.Thesis option - 30 credit hours (six for thesis)Non-thesis option - 33 credit hoursCore courses - 12 credit hoursElectives - six credit hours max (examples include: video game development, cyber-physical systems, machine learning, big data systems, data analytics)Electives outside the department (optional)

Applicants who present a TOEFL score of at least 61 iBT but less than 79 iBT or an IELTS academic stream score of 6.0 and who demonstrate unusual academic promise may be admitted to graduate study on conditional status upon petition to the Graduate College by the graduate program
